Miracles In The Bible
Elisha Raises The Shunammite Woman’s Son
In 2 Kings chapter four, we read the story of a Shunammite woman who asks her husband to make a small apartment for Elisha to use whenever he comes to town. In response to this kindness, Elisha inquires if there is anything he can do for her. When she asks for nothing, Elisha’s servant Gehazi observes that she has no son and that her husband is old. Elisha tells the woman that she will have a son by this time the following year, which came to pass. Sometime later, the Shuna

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
The amazing story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three young men defying the mighty King Nebuchadnezzar and thrown into a fiery furnace. Recorded in the third chapter of Daniel, the account of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego provides believers today with strong and lasting lessons. For their refusal to obey the king’s decree to bow down to the idol, three charges were brought against them. They paid no heed to the king and his commands, they did not serve the king’s gods

Jesus Casts Legions of Demons into the Pigs
The story of Jesus casting the legion of demons into a herd of pigs is found in Matthew 8:28–34; Mark 5:1-20; and Luke 8:26–39. Only Matthew mentions the more prominent of the two demoniacs involved. Demoniacs were persons whose minds came under the control of an evil spirit or spirits. That such phenomena were especially prominent during the days of Christ’s earthly ministry is consistent with Satan’s efforts to counteract God’s program. It also allows us to witness the spir

God Provides Manna
The people of Israel found themselves in the desert where there are not a lot of food choices. Walking through the desert day after day is bound to strike up a hunger, so they had to eat something. How on earth were they going to survive? Anxiety levels elevated; the Israelites quickly forgot how the Lord brought t

The Healing of Peter’s Mother-in-Law
Peter’s mother-in-law—a woman who expressed her gratitude to God through ministering (see Matthew 8:14–15; Mark 1:29–31; Luke 4:38–39). There are interesting variations on how Jesus healed the woman: Matthew says that he touched her hand; Mark says Jesus took her hand and Luke says that Jesus bent over her. We don’t know the extent of her suffering, but Luke, a physician, seems to emphasize the seriousness of her illness by describing it as a “great fever” (Luke 4:38).

The Sun Stood Still
Joshua 10:12-14 relates one of the most amazing miracles of all time-the day the sun stood still. "On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: 'Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.' So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies.... The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never be

Jonah & The Big Fish
God commanded the prophet Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh and warn its people that He was going to destroy it for its wickedness. Jonah disobediently ran from the Lord and headed for the city of Tarshish by boat. The Lord then sent a severe storm that caused the crew of the ship to fear for their lives. Jonah was soon thrown overboard and swallowed by a great fish where he remained for “three days and three nights” (Jonah 1:15–17). In the belly of the whale, Jonah rep
