Jesus Heals Peter’s Mother-In-Law [Pt.2]

Mark 1:30-31 is significant as it demonstrates Jesus’ immediate, compassionate, and absolute authority over physical illness, turning a private, life-threatening crisis into a scene of healing and service. By touching and raising Simon’s mother-in-law, Jesus reverses the curse of sickness, immediately restores her to functionality, and models a life of ministry and gratitude.

Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. Mark 1:30-31

What a great testimony. The moment she was healed, she started serving. She didn’t wait to be asked. She saw a need and immediately filled it. If there’s one thing we all can do, it’s serve. Doesn’t matter where we are, where we’re going or where we think we’re going. We can all serve. And sometimes the little things can really make a big difference. Something you may think is small and insignificant may actually be just what another person needs in order to know someone else cares.

Never underestimate the power of the little things. Seriously. Maybe it’s a kind word or a kind gesture. Regardless of how small you may think it is, it may be much larger than you believe.
